In the framework of the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a meeting with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Muhammad bin Salman Al Saud. The President's press service reported this.
The pressing issues of expanding multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia were discussed.
At the beginning of the conversation, the head of our state highlighted the timely organization and critical importance of the extraordinary summit in Riyadh.
The continued active dialogue and exchanges at various levels were noted with great satisfaction. The volume of mutual trade and investments, as well as the number of joint ventures, is increasing.
Issues of promoting new joint projects in green energy, modernizing transport infrastructure, in the field of communications, agriculture, and industry were considered.
Special attention was paid to the preparation for upcoming high-level events, including the second summit of the "Central Asia - Gulf Arab States Cooperation Council" dialogue to be held in the city of Samarkand in 2025.
During the meeting, the leader of Uzbekistan expressed gratitude to the leadership of Saudi Arabia for the conditions created for our citizens to perform Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages.
Regional issues, including the situation in the Middle East and its peaceful resolution, were also discussed.
With this, the events of the practical visit to Riyadh were concluded, and the head of our state departed for Baku.
