Responsibility measures were taken against the officials of local governments that failed to comply with legislation on transparency. The Anti-Corruption Agency reported on this matter.

The Anti-Corruption Agency analyzed the situation concerning the disclosure of information of social significance, which should have been published as open data based on the Presidential Decree PF-6247, in the districts and cities of Namangan and Fergana regions at the end of the 3rd quarter of this year.

In particular, the activities in this regard of the administrations of Namangan, Uychi, Uchkurgan districts of Namangan region, and the Fergana district, Kuvasoy, and Margilan cities of Fergana region were studied on-site.

As is known, district and city administrations are designated to regularly disclose 12 types of information publicly.

During the investigations, it was discovered that numerous district and city administrations had been negligent in ensuring the execution of legislation related to transparency.

In particular, the administrations had not taken measures to announce, in the prescribed manner, important information such as details of state purchases or the income and expenditure estimates formed at the end of each quarter of local budgets, the part exceeded from the plan, and the purposes for which these funds were allocated.

As a result, instructions were given to the administrations of Namangan and Fergana regions to eliminate these shortcomings and to address the issue of holding responsible employees accountable for the violations, and administrative protocols were drawn up against three officials and sent to judicial authorities.

The Agency will continue to coordinate and constantly monitor the transparency of state bodies and organizations, including monitoring their obligations to post information prescribed by legislation on the Internet.
