In Tashkent, the Information Resource Center of the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights officially began its operations as the “House of Human Rights” . This was reported by the press service of the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights
On this occasion, a grand opening ceremony was organized in collaboration with the Information and Mass Communications Agency affiliated with the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Alisher Navoi National Library of Uzbekistan by the National Center.
The event was attended by representatives of international and regional organizations involved in the protection of human rights and promotion of legal norms, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Uzbekistan, media representatives, government officials, leading experts, and public figures in science and society – approximately 100 participants in total. In addition, the opening ceremony of the “House of Human Rights” was followed online by librarians from all the regions of our country.
According to reports, while the constitutions of countries around the world record more than 110 rights of a person, 90 of these rights are present in the new edition of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and 40 of them are new constitutional rights.
In this regard, the official launch of the “House of Human Rights” is a major practical event related to the implementation of this constitutional norm.
The traditional ceremony of the grand opening event - the ribbon cutting, was performed by the Director of the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights Akmal Saidov, the Director of the Information and Mass Communications Agency affiliated with the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Asadjon Khodjaev, the UN Permanent Coordinator in Uzbekistan Sabina Mahl, and the Director of the Alisher Navoi National Library of Uzbekistan Umida Teshaboeva together.
