When an investigation was conducted by the Competition Committee of the Republic of Karakalpakstan at the Khujayli district medical association, it was discovered that when recalculating the funds received from consumers for services provided with unverified metrology equipment, a total of 2,640,000 UZS was collected from 88 consumers using the "Portable ECG," which had not passed metrology verification, from April to August 2024.
In the example of Bukhara region
During the study of medical service prices (tariffs) by the Bukhara Regional Multidisciplinary Medical Center conducted by the regional department, it was found that over 152 million UZS in wages and labor costs were unjustly charged to 35,172 consumers in excess, through the exaggeration of unpaid wages for services provided in the department of functional diagnostics during the years 2023-2024.
In the example of Surkhandarya region
By the regional department, an investigation was conducted based on the comparison of payments received from consumers through the use and metrological inspection of measuring and testing equipment intended for medical use between January and October 2024 in the Oltinsoy district medical association.
According to the results of the investigation, it was found that services provided to consumers in the Oltinsoy district medical association involved the use of metrologically unverified medical testing and measuring equipment to 398 unspecified consumers, charging 8,940,000 UZS for one type of service.
Therefore, it has been identified that the state medical institutions and private clinics (Khujayli district medical association, Bukhara Regional Multidisciplinary Medical Center, Oltinsoy district medical association, Republic specialized Oncology and Radiology scientific-practical medical center Kashkadarya branch and "KARDIO-SONO MED SERVIS" LLC) have provided unguaranteed services to over 37 thousand consumers.
Concerning the identified cases, the Competition Committee has issued mandatory instructions for the remediation of the violation situation and the refund of excessively charged funds to consumers in accordance with Articles 4, 12, 19, 20, 21, and 27 of the “Law on Protection of Consumer Rights”.
