In social networks, a video circulated showing a large-capacity pump pipe bursting in the Jarkurgan district of the Surkhandarya region and a large amount of water being ejected from it. The regional administration commented on the situation.
According to the local administration, at around 12:50 on June 30 of this year, a crack occurred in a pipe with a diameter of D-2850 millimeters in section 7 of collector 1 of the "Bobotog" pumping station located in the Jarkurgan district. As a result, high-pressure water ejection was observed.
Immediate measures were taken regarding the situation. It was noted that the operation of 3 pump units in collector 1 was suspended in an emergency. After that, a special rapid response team was dispatched to the site, and repair works were carried out. The repairs were fully completed by 21:00, and the pump units were restarted at 21:20.
It is reported that the incident did not cause any damage to the nearby residential houses or the infrastructure of the pumping station.
“Currently, the pump units are operating in their normal mode,” the report states.
