Pakistan carried out an air strike on the Barmal district of Paktika province in Afghanistan on December 24th. From under the ruins, bodies of 15 people, including women and children, were retrieved. Hasht-e Subh Daily reported this.
According to sources, at least seven villages in the Barmal district were hit by air strikes. In the village of Laman, five members of a family, including women and children, were killed. The number of victims might increase, and people are extracting bodies from the rubble.
Local residents said the explosions were carried out by Pakistani aircraft. The aircrafts are patrolling the skies over Khost, Paktia, and Paktika.
"Taliban" promised to retaliate
The "Taliban" Ministry of Defense condemned Pakistan's air strikes on a part of the Barmal district as an outright aggression. The ministry emphasized that the attacks were conducted by the Pakistani army.
"The Taliban" considers this merciless act contrary to all international principles and a clear aggression, severely condemns it, said the ministry's official spokesman Inayatullah Khwarzmi.
He mentioned that the attack primarily targeted "Waziristani refugees", resulting in the death and injury of several children and other civilian members. The "Taliban" added that they would not leave the attack unanswered.
