“The Law on Space Activity” (№ URQ-1017, January 13, 2025) was adopted. The Ministry of Justice reported on this.
The law regulates relations in the field of space activities.
One of the main objectives of carrying out space activities is considered to be assisting in the sustainable socio-economic development of Uzbekistan, strengthening its defense capability and security.
The Cabinet of Ministers ensures the implementation of the unified state policy in the field of space activities.
The Space Research and Technologies Agency is the specialized state body in the field of space activities.
The Ministry of Defence uses the capabilities of space activities in the interests of the country's defense and security, and also organizes work on the creation of military space technologies.
The following are included in the types of space systems:
▪️Remote sensing of the Earth;
▪️space monitoring;
▪️state space monitoring;
▪️space communication system;
▪️high precision artificial satellite navigation system;
▪️other types of space systems created for scientific, economic, ecological, informational and commercial purposes, as well as in accordance with international treaties of Uzbekistan.
The law comes into effect from the day it is officially published.
