“On the measures for further development of the transport and logistics system of the Republic of Uzbekistan” Presidential decree (PQ-28, January 27, 2025) was adopted.
According to the decree, the concept of developing Uzbekistan's transport and logistics system until 2030 and the “road map” for its implementation were approved.
The main target indicators and indicators were defined, including:
to increase the total volume of international cargo transportation by road, rail, and air transport at least 2 times;
to increase exports of transport and logistics services by up to 2 times;
to increase the share of container cargo transportation by at least 1.5 times;
to improve Uzbekistan's position in the World Bank's Logistics Performance Index (LPI) to not less than the 55th rank.
VAT at zero rate is applied to transport-forwarding services in organizing international transportation of goods.
From June 1, 2025, an electronic queue system for vehicles at the state border crossing points will be implemented.
In collaboration with the International Road Transport Union, a regional training center will be established for training personnel in the field of international road transport and improving their qualifications.
Roadside service (“Service area” and “Service point”) facilities will be organized along the public roads.
