Mikhail Bogdanov, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia participated in the negotiations that took place in the Syrian capital on January 28th.

Syria's new leadership has demanded from Moscow to acknowledge past mistakes and pay reparations. The Russian delegation refused this.

The parties have not reached an agreement on the contentious issues. They only agreed to continue the negotiations.
