The leader of Denmark’s “Hard Line” party, Rasmus Paludan, set fire to a copy of the holy Quran again on February 1. He announced this on his X (formerly Twitter) page.

“At 12:38, the Quran was burned in front of the Turkish embassy in Copenhagen,” he wrote. The video shows the burning book.

This is not the first instance of Rasmus burning the Quran. He had set fire to the Quran in front of the Turkish embassy in Stockholm in January 2023, and a few days later, he did the same in front of a mosque’s door in Denmark.

Both actions, carried out not only with the local authorities' permission but also under police surveillance, caused an extremely negative reaction in Muslim countries. Turkey even threatened to block Sweden's NATO membership application. However, later on, the Swedish police authorized burning the Quran near Stockholm's main mosque on the first day of Eid al-Adha.
