Europe's diplomacy leader Kaja Kallas positively assessed US President Donald Trump's tough stance towards Russia but criticized the announced "50-day deadline" regarding Ukraine.

"Trump's sharp approach towards Russia is a positive signal. But 50 days is a very long time when innocent people are dying every day. We all need to increase pressure on Russia until it also desires peace," said Kallas.

On July 14, during a meeting with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, Trump stated that he had given Russia a 50-day deadline to reach a peace agreement on Ukraine. Otherwise, he threatened to impose 100% secondary sanctions on Russia's trade partners.

Additionally, Trump confirmed the US plan to send Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine. Kallas, meanwhile, expressed hope for military assistance from the US, similar to that from European countries.
