President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on February 3 regarding the ongoing works on providing employment for the population and attracting investments. Click here for more information.
Significant tasks had been set during the meetings held in December and January in this area. Our state leader emphasized that "the year 2025 will be the most crucial and determining year for providing employment and reducing poverty".
Specifically, this year, plans include employing 5 million 200 thousand people, lifting 1.5 million out of poverty, attracting 42 billion dollars of foreign investment, and increasing exports to over 30 billion dollars.
Information about the started projects and initial results were provided at the meeting.
In January, 277 thousand citizens were employed. Out of these, 91 thousand were placed in permanent jobs, and 153 thousand were involved in entrepreneurship.
New approaches in 32 directions are being implemented for poverty reduction. Recently, groups consisting of ministry and local government specialists went to China to exchange experiences. Now, local opportunities will be explained to the public, assisting them in earning income.
Job creation and investments are interlinked. This year, nearly 14 billion dollars worth of 8 thousand projects are planned to be realized, creating 272 thousand permanent jobs.
According to preliminary calculations, our country received 3 billion dollars in foreign investments last month. The goal for February is also to attract the same amount of investment and launch 623 projects.
The need to work specifically on projects and significantly increase the pace was emphasized at the meeting.
Since the beginning of the year, the volume of exports has reached 1 billion 300 million dollars. Officials were tasked with working with foreign partners to assist entrepreneurs in entering foreign markets and involving new enterprises in exports.
