US President Donald Trump signed a decree imposing sanctions on International Criminal Court (ICC) officials in response to investigations being conducted against US citizens and allies like Israel. This news was announced on the White House website on February 6th here.

It was mentioned that the ICC "abused its authority by issuing unjustified arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant".

According to Trump's order, neither the US nor Israel are members of the International Criminal Court and have not signed the Rome Statute. “Neither country has ever recognized the jurisdiction of the ICC, and both countries are flourishing democracies with armies that adhere strictly to the laws of war,” said Trump.

According to the decree, assets of ICC officials in the US will be blocked, and ICC personnel and their family members will be banned from entering the United States. The order prohibits any assistance to the court. The US has not yet announced who will be subjected to these sanctions.
