In Russia, those who have been in a marriage for a long time (30 years or more) might receive a "reward money". The respective bill will be submitted to the State Duma today, February 14th here.
According to one of the authors of the document, the chairman of the Duma's labor committee Yaroslav Nilov, if this law is approved, it will cover all Russians, including those who got married during the Soviet era.
The deputies suggest making a one-time cash payment on anniversary dates for families that have been married for many years. According to the proposal, if a husband and wife get divorced and then remarry, their years together are not combined. The right to receive the payment is preserved even if one of the spouses dies in the anniversary year.
Those who have been continuously married for 30 years will receive 30,000 rubles (about 335 dollars). For every subsequent decade, an additional 10,000 rubles will be added to the payment.
