The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received a delegation headed by the Vice-President of the Republic of Turkey, Cevdet Yılmaz, on May 15.

At the beginning of the meeting, the distinguished guest conveyed the greetings and sincere wishes of the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to the leader of our country.

Issues of expanding and strengthening the broad strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey, primarily in trade-economic and investment areas, were considered.

The ongoing active dialogue and exchanges at various levels were noted with great satisfaction. The volume of mutual trade and investments, the number of joint ventures, and flights are increasing.

The productive results of the latest meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, business dialogues, and exhibitions held in Tashkent today were highly appreciated.

It was emphasized that it is important to take coordinated measures to further increase trade, including by expanding the nomenclature of goods within the framework of the Preferential Trade Agreement.

The need to promote joint projects in innovations, energy, industry, pharmaceutics, textiles, tourism, education, and other areas, as well as to form a new portfolio of cooperation projects and a cultural-humanitarian exchange program, was underlined.

Special attention was paid to prepare the agenda for the next meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council.
