Al Arabiya, citing state television, reports that the Iranian government has begun preparations for a "grand" funeral ceremony in memory of the deceased supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Zamon.uz reported this here.

According to reports, a special headquarters has been established to organize the ceremony, and various state agencies are currently engaged in organizational work. The exact date of the funeral has not yet been announced.

It is noted that Ali Khamenei led the Islamic Republic of Iran for more than 30 years. He is reported to have been killed in the first wave of strikes carried out by the United States and Israel on February 28.

It has been reported that his son and potential successor, Mojtaba Khamenei, was also wounded during the attacks. He has not appeared in public since the incident.

Earlier, it was reported that the state funeral was postponed due to the war, while commemorative events were held.

An official announcement is currently awaited, and the ceremony is planned to be held on a large scale.
