People's Artist of Uzbekistan Farrukh Zakirov was awarded the “Friendship” order of the Russian Federation yesterday, May 29. The Ministry of Culture announced this.
The fifth meeting of the sub-commission on Culture of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia took place at the “Uzbekistan” forums palace in Tashkent city. The meeting was attended by Uzbekistan's Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov and Russia's Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova.
The order was presented to Farrukh Zakirov by the Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova.
It is worth noting that the “Friendship” order was established in Russia in the spring of 1994. It is awarded to Russian and foreign citizens for their services in strengthening friendship and cooperation between peoples, and for achievements in the fields of science and culture.
For your information, 78-year-old Farrukh Zakirov is simultaneously recognized as the People's Artist in 7 regions – Uzbekistan, Karakalpakstan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Ingushetia, Tatarstan, and Bashkortostan.
