According to the report given by the Consulate General see, on August 17 of this year, in the Umraniye district of Istanbul, Republic of Turkey, a 35-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan, N.S., who had come for temporary work from Samarkand region, was stabbed to death by her husband, a citizen of Uzbekistan, U.S., as a result of jealousy.
The suspect was apprehended in the Umraniye area in the early morning of August 18 during the search operations carried out by the Istanbul police.
Furthermore, B.O., originally from Jizzakh region, who is suspected of aiding the criminal in hiding, has also been detained by the police.
Upon completion of the investigation, a court ordered the detention of the suspects on August 19. It is reported that the investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
The Consulate General added that the necessary documents for sending the deceased's body to Uzbekistan have been formalized, and assistance is being provided by the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
