The Ministry of Internal Affairs has warned about a rise in cases of telephone fraud related to the theft of funds from bank cards.
This year, 74 thousand appeals from citizens about the theft of funds from cards have been received by law enforcement agencies.
The criminals introduce themselves as employees of banks, government agencies, telecom operators, or marketplaces. Most often, they speak Russian and, for persuasiveness, send fake documents via messengers.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminds: bank employees never ask for PIN codes, passwords, or one-time SMS codes. Do not open unknown links and applications, even if they were sent by acquaintances. If you receive a call from an unknown number, you can end the conversation and independently call the organization back on its official phone number.
If you have disclosed personal data or noticed suspicious transactions, you must immediately block the card and contact the internal affairs authorities.
