In Surkhandarya region, within the framework of the operational-preventive measures “Safe and Healthy Country”, the illegal circulation of narcotic drugs was curbed.

Employees of the regional department of the State Security Service, in cooperation with the Internal Affairs and Customs authorities, identified a number of cases.

In particular, during a search of the home of a resident of Denov district, born in 1980, previously convicted for a crime related to drug trafficking, 1 kilogram 7 grams of “opium” and 998 grams of “hashish” kept for sale were found.

In another case in the district territory, two citizens born in 1986 and 1966, previously convicted for crimes related to drug trafficking, were caught with material evidence while selling 491 grams of “hashish” to a conditional buyer for 85 million soums.

Also, a case related to narcotic drugs was recorded in the regional center. A citizen of Afghanistan, born in 2003, was caught while selling 506 grams of “opium” to a conditional buyer for 2,500 US dollars on the territory of the Termez International Trade Center.

During the investigation, it was established that he had used his internal organ as a “living container” to secretly import the narcotic drug from a neighboring state.

Criminal cases have been initiated on these facts, and investigative actions are currently being carried out.
