In Crimea, a passenger train traveling on the Moscow–Simferopol route was targeted by a drone attack. As a result of the incident, the assistant driver was killed and the driver was injured. This was reported by the Meduza publication in a news item.
According to Crimea's head, Sergey Aksyonov, there were no casualties among the passengers on the train at the time of the incident. Following this, train traffic in the peninsula area was temporarily halted and passengers were evacuated.
Grand Service Express company announced that a number of planned passenger train services across Crimea have been suspended. In particular, passengers on trains on the Moscow–Simferopol and Saint Petersburg–Simferopol routes were transported to their destinations by buses.
According to local media, the main railway line connecting Crimea with the Russian mainland passes through the Kerch Bridge. Currently, passengers are being transported by buses to the bridge.
Also, a drone attack was reported in Russia's Kursk region. According to the regional administration, two tractor drivers working in the field were killed.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that from the night of June 7 to the morning of June 8, 310 drones were shot down over Russian territories and Crimea.
