One of the streets in Tashkent will be named after the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. This was established in the relevant decision signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on June 15.
According to the document, a section of Abdulla Qodiriy Street adjacent to the "Uzbek-Turkish Friendship" avenue being built in the Yashnobod district will be named after Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
This refers to the road section starting from the intersection of Istiqlol, Fergana Highway, and Nukus streets, and ending at the intersection of Abdulla Qodiriy Street and Makhtumkuli Avenue.
This decision is viewed as another symbolic step towards further strengthening the strategic partnership and fraternal relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey.
It is worth recalling that earlier, a solemn opening ceremony was held for the "Uzbekistan Mahalla" neighborhood, established on the basis of a residential complex built by Uzbekistan in the Arsuz district of Turkey's Hatay province, as well as for Shavkat Mirziyoyev Boulevard and Tashkent and Samarkand streets.
