FIFA has rejected Iran's request to relocate its World Cup matches to another territory against the backdrop of the U.S.-Israel conflict. According to Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, such a decision was made due to logistical complexity.
She emphasized that the matches will be held in the U.S. as previously scheduled. The option of moving Iran's matches to Mexico was not even considered.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino also stated that the matches will be held at the venues determined by the draw and confirmed Iran's participation in the World Cup.
Earlier, the Iranian Football Federation expressed concerns regarding security issues in the U.S. This intensified further following statements by Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, the exchange of statements between the parties continues. Iranian officials have assessed that if the matches are not relocated, the team's participation will be uncertain.
