Under the new order, the main influence has shifted to the hands of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

According to reports, although the late leader's son, Mojtaba Khamenei, has been appointed as the supreme leader, his role is limited. Sources indicate that he is primarily engaged in approving decisions made by the generals.

Since 1979, Iran's governance system was built around a supreme leader with absolute authority. However, under wartime conditions, power has been concentrated within a narrow circle — the Supreme National Security Council, the Office of the Supreme Leader, and the Corps.

Analysts believe that the Corps is currently playing a decisive role in military strategy and key political decisions. At the same time, Mojtaba Khamenei is rarely seen in public and communicates only through restricted channels.

According to sources, although he officially holds the highest position, in practice he has become not a decision-maker but a figure who formalizes decisions. Real power is concentrated in the hands of the governance system formed during the war, particularly the Supreme National Security Council.
