The number of checkpoints located on the state border between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan will be increased from 15 to 30. This was announced by President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov following the results of negotiations with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held in the city of Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul region.
According to Sadyr Japarov, relevant agreements have been signed in this regard, and their implementation will significantly facilitate border crossing for citizens of the two countries.
“Agreements have been signed to increase the number of checkpoints from 15 to 30. Now more favorable opportunities will be created for people to freely visit each other, do business, receive education, and relax,” said the Kyrgyz leader.
He noted that relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan are currently going through one of the highest stages in their history.
Let us recall that on July 30, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Kyrgyzstan on a state visit. High-level negotiations were held in the city of Cholpon-Ata.
Following the visit, a Treaty on Allied Relations was signed between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. In addition, Shavkat Mirziyoyev was awarded the Order of Manas, 1st degree, which is considered one of the highest state awards of the Kyrgyz Republic.
