The "Voices of the World" international national pop music festival, which took place in Khanabad city of Andijan region from July 29 to 31, had a total of 6 billion UZS spent on it from all sources. This was reported by the press service of the regional administration here.
According to information provided by the regional administration, this international event also brought about significant economic changes for the population. It is noted that during the festival, the number of local and foreign visitors to Khanabad city increased 2.5 times (2 million people). Revenue in business entities significantly increased. Specifically, over the first 7 months of 2024, the revenue amounted to 48 billion UZS, of which 8.5 billion UZS were earned during July 29–31, which is twice as much compared to the same period last year.
"These indicators demonstrate an increase in the income of businesses and residents in Khanabad city," the report states.
Furthermore, it's reported that while 48 entrepreneurs were engaged in trade and service activities in the past year of 2023, during the international event in 2024, the number of ongoing business activities increased to 230, nearly five times more.
While the number of accommodation places in guest yards and houses was 1,900 in the year 2024, this number increased to more than 6,000. Especially in increasing the income of residents, employment, and raising the income of low-income citizens, more than 600 family guesthouses were established based on the experience of "Saykhunobod", "Uychi".
