The President of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the President of Turkmenistan.

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met with the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in the city of Astana on August 9. The President's press service reported this. 

Issues of further strengthening friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan were considered.

The satisfactory results of the meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Council of Entrepreneurs, as well as the exhibition of Turkmenistan's products held in Tashkent in July of this year, were happily noted.

Special attention was paid to issues of increasing the volume of mutual trade and promoting cooperation projects in priority sectors of the economy, including industry, energy, agriculture, and transportation sectors.

The importance of expanding interregional connections and activating cultural-humanitarian exchange programs was noted.

Issues on the regional agenda were also discussed.
