On August 13 of the current year, the Chilonzor district court on criminal cases found K.A., born in 1999 in Karakalpakstan, guilty of engaging in illegal activities with crypto-assets under part 1 of Article 155-4 of the Administrative Code and sentenced him to 15 days of administrative detention.
Moreover, the court decided to destroy his Iphone 12 Pro Max phone recognized as a crime weapon in due order.
According to the investigation during the court, it was determined that prior to the investigation, on August 6, 2024, a preliminary examination was conducted based on a complaint registered by the Secretariat of the Tashkent City Main Directorate of Internal Affairs which revealed that the phone belonging to K.A. was used in illegal crypto-asset activities. In the court session, the accused admitted his guilt regarding the mentioned situation, stating that he was involved in collecting and selling crypto-assets, collecting them through his account and selling them through the online section of crypto-assets.
In addition to sentencing K.A. to 15 days of detention, the court also imposed a fine on him amounting to 15 percent of the base calculation amount (BCA), which is 765,000 UZS, for each day of detention, to be paid to the benefit of the detention facility.
