Pediatrician Dr. Noiba Azimova shared recommendations for parents.

- The immune system is a shield that protects the body from various microbes and infections, - says the specialist. - The frequent illnesses of boys and girls, the recurrence of diseases is a sign of weak immunity.

This is often due to a lack of vitamins in schoolchildren's bodies, poor sleep, improper nutrition, and constant psychological stress.

Because the bodies of school-age children adapt to certain rhythms. Therefore, it is advisable to accustom the child to a routine from an early age. This is an important factor in strengthening immunity.

For elementary school students, it is appropriate to go to sleep at 9:00 PM and wake up at 7:00 AM. For older children, the bedtime can be extended to 10:00 PM.

Using a computer, tablet, or phone before bedtime negatively affects the quality of sleep. As a result, the production of the melatonin hormone in the brain decreases. This, in turn, increases the level of the cortisol hormone at night. Consequently, the child becomes prone to various diseases.

Moreover, proper rest has a positive effect on the immune system. During sleep, the metabolism process in a child's body accelerates, and it is during these hours that children grow well.

Another important recommendation: it is appropriate for a child to eat at least 4 times a day, i.e., have breakfast around 7:30-8:00 AM, a hot breakfast between 10:30-11:30 AM, lunch from 14:00-15:00 PM, and dinner at 19:00-19:30 PM.

Fast food, instant meals, carbonated drinks, snacks, and various sweets not only deprive students' bodies of natural vitamins and minerals but also negatively impact their healthy growth in every way.

The consumption of iodized salt, fresh fruits and vegetables, maintaining the water balance are important for our children's health. The benefit of honey, which acts as a natural antioxidant in boosting immunity, and garlic onions, effective in combating viruses, is significant.

Inclusion of carrots and sweet potatoes, rich in Vitamin A, and nuts, high in Vitamin E, which are helpful in fighting against flu and contagious respiratory diseases, is definitely advisable in children’s diet.
