"Additional measures to support rice producers" Presidential Decree (PQ-290, August 15, 2024) has been adopted. The Ministry of Agriculture's press service  reported this.

It is reported that, as of September 1, 2024, farmers, peasant farms, and other producers will be allocated preferential loans for financing the costs of rice production and purchase under the conditions specified in the Presidential decree.

In 2025–2026, the cost of new seed drills and planting equipment purchased for rice sowing and produced no more than one year ago will be covered by allocating 20 percent subsidies from the State budget.

In Khorezm region, the following additional subsidies will be allocated to rice producers:

  • 100 percent of the fuel and lubricants expenses for each hectare of laser-leveled fields, however, not exceeding a total cost of 1 million UZS per hectare, will be covered;
  • A portion of the costs associated with the introduction of modern water-saving technologies in amounts specified in the Presidential decree will be covered.

As an exception, for the 2024 harvest, agricultural enterprises in Khorezm region that have produced more than 120 centners of harvest will be allowed to export up to 50 percent of the produced rice as rice products.
