Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in his meeting with the youth on June 30th, addressed the newly elected neighborhood leaders, emphasizing that even one child going astray in the neighborhood should be considered an emergency situation. The President's press service reported this.
"Of course, young people understand each other's language, they take examples from each other, they motivate one another. That's why we have appointed youth leaders in more than 9,000 neighborhoods. They have learned a lot during three years, gained sufficient experience. Now, they need to learn how to work with schools, technical colleges, language and vocational centers," — said the president in his speech at the meeting.
The head of state pointed out that the presence of 167,000 unorganized youth and 17,000 students with difficult behaviors and who have committed legal violations in the neighborhoods should concern everyone, and addressed the newly elected neighborhood leaders.
"Who is responsible for peace, solidarity, kindness, and a healthy environment in the neighborhood? Primarily, it depends on you. Even one child going astray in the neighborhood should be considered an emergency situation. Therefore, you should be the ones who care more about every child, their fate, and their future," — said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Furthermore, the head of state added that it's crucial to understand that no child is inherently bad.
"They need conditions to display the love and opportunities of adults, motivation for self-confidence," — he said.
The president cited as an example the Business Community Council members — 108 "champion" entrepreneurs visiting schools in their company vicinities and arousing interest in professions among senior students. Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that the majority of these students are gaining a clear vision of their future professional paths.
"Such initiative-taking, selfless, patriotic entrepreneurs are my wings. Tell me, what else can I do for you to support the youth, lead them to professions, make them employed and profitable? If our major entrepreneurs meet with the governors quickly and make their proposals, I am ready to consider all of them," — said the president.
