Control has been intensified at Uzbekistan's airports due to monkeypox.

It was emphasized that the new strain of this disease is primarily spreading in African countries not directly related to Uzbekistan.

Based on the instructions of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor on "Organizing preventive measures to prevent the entry and spread of monkeypox from abroad," a series of sanitary and promotional events are planned at the country's airports planned.

In particular, seminars on the etiology, clinical presentation, epidemiology, diagnostics, and prevention of monkeypox disease for medical staff at airports are planned for August 20-21, in collaboration with the Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Well-being of Civil Aviation Facilities.

Additionally, sanitary and promotional efforts aimed at preventing monkeypox disease have been intensified at all international airports in the republic.

Airport staff will be provided with information about this disease in a simplified form, and some symptoms will be explained in terms of how they visually manifest. Moreover, thermal imagers that remotely detect passengers with high body temperature will be installed at airports by the sanitary and quarantine service.

The Medical Support Development Department of "Uzbekistan Airports" JSC, relying on WHO information, emphasized that the new strain of the disease is mainly spreading in African countries not directly connected with flights to Uzbekistan.
