A citizen in the Sergeli district of Tashkent city will be fined 17 million UZS for cutting down a tree and is obliged to plant 100 saplings. The Ministry of Ecology reported this.
It is mentioned that the Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of Tashkent city received a report about damage being done to a tree in the Sergeli district, Sergeli 7 area.
Upon inspection of the site, it was discovered in the “Madadkor” MCA that citizen Y.U. had cut down a tree, causing it damage to the extent of preventing its growth, resulting in environmental damage worth 8 million 840 thousand UZS.
An administrative report was filed against the violator under Article 79, Part 1 of the Code on Administrative Responsibility. The violator was fined 25 times the base calculation amount — 8 million 500 thousand UZS. The violator will pay a total compensation of 17 million 340 thousand UZS.
Furthermore, according to the decision number 464 of the Cabinet of Ministers, the violator is obligated to plant 100 saplings as compensation for the cut tree.
