At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, will be in our country on a state visit on August 22-23. The President's press service reported this.
According to the visit program, high-level negotiations and the first session of the Intergovernmental Supreme Council under the chairmanship of the leaders of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are planned to be held in Tashkent city.
The summit's agenda includes issues of deepening and expanding Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation relations.
Increasing mutual trade, forming a new portfolio of cooperation projects, developing business relations, including interregional exchanges, realizing the potential of transport and communication, and intensifying cultural-humanitarian ties and other issues will be in focus.
The presidents are also expected to meet with representatives of the business community of both countries and to participate in a number of business and cultural events.
