At the invitation of Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will be on a working visit to the country on August 4-5 to participate in the events of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. The event, taking place in the "Avaza" national tourist zone, will be attended by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, leaders of foreign states and governments, and heads of international and regional organizations.

The conference agenda includes pressing issues such as strengthening transport connectivity and simplifying trade procedures, economic transformation, increasing resilience to climate change and environmental threats, and enhancing international cooperation to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. The adoption of the Avaza Political Declaration and Action Plan is anticipated.

During his visit to Turkmenistan, the leader of Uzbekistan will also participate in an event dedicated to preparations for the Seventh Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Leaders and hold a series of bilateral talks.
