On July 24, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a telephone conversation with the national leader of the Turkmen people, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The national leader of Turkmenistan sincerely congratulated the head of state on his birthday, wishing him strong health, happiness, and great success, as well as peace and prosperity to the brotherly people of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of implementing the agreements reached during the high-level meeting held in Samarkand in April of this year, urgent issues of further developing and strengthening the relations of friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan were discussed.
It was noted with satisfaction that mutual trade turnover is rapidly increasing, cooperative ties at the enterprise and business levels are deepening, and active cultural and humanitarian exchanges continue.
Views were exchanged on international and regional issues of importance, including preparations for the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries and the upcoming Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States.
