This operation, unlike chemotherapy treatment, does not harm healthy cells, reports the Ministry of Health's Press Service.

For this, nanoparticles that accumulate in the walls of the blood vessels feeding the dangerous tumor were created.

In this method, the particles gradually disintegrate, releasing the drug placed inside them, and only enter the tumor tissues, destroying them. This reduces the risk of adverse effects.

“Destroying cancer cells is not that difficult; there are many compounds available against it. The problem is not harming healthy cells. We are aware of the complications of chemotherapy in this regard. That's why we have developed a system that is directed straight to the spot where the tumor is located, just like a needle,” says one of the researchers, Alexey Ermakov.

It is noted that after the relevant clinical trials, the results of this research can be applied to medical practice.
