The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Latvia, Temur Rakhmonov, held a meeting with the Minister of the Interior of that country, Rihards Kozlovskis. This was reported by the “Dunyo” IA here.
It was reported that during the meeting, the issues of accelerating cooperation between Uzbekistan and Latvia in fighting crime and other areas were discussed.
Minister Rihards Kozlovskis, while noting the extensive experience gained in Uzbekistan in fighting and preventing crime, emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in all areas between the ministries of internal affairs of the two countries.
Particularly, a proposal was made to organize a meeting in Riga in the first half of 2025 for the joint commission between the two countries’ ministries of internal affairs to define the main directions of cooperation in the near future, particularly in combating organized crime, illegal trafficking of drugs, precursors, and psychotropic substances.
Moreover, the importance of developing cooperation in preventing youth crime, combating crime in the IT sector, economic crimes, and forensics was noted.
