During the visit to the Republic of Armenia, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, held a bilateral meeting with the First Vice-President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Muhammad Riza Orif .
At the meeting, it was emphasized that significant work is being carried out by the heads of state to further strengthen multifaceted cooperation.
As a result, it was noted that mutual trade exceeded half a billion dollars last year alone, and the number of joint ventures has increased by 51 since the beginning of the year.
Attention was paid to thorough preparation for the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the business forum within its scope, and to the implementation of industrial cooperation projects in various sectors between the states at the meeting.
Additionally, it was stated that energy, metallurgy, innovation and technology, transport-transit, and communication sectors are important directions for further expanding bilateral cooperation.
The delegation of the Government of Uzbekistan also participated in the Eurasian Economic Forum during the visit to Yerevan.
