The Uzbekistan women's national football team will take the field in the quarterfinals of the AFC Women's Asian Cup tournament being held in Australia against the South Korea women's national football team.
Head coach Katerina Kalbaite's pupils secured a spot in the playoff stage by finishing third in Group "B". The quarterfinal match will take place on March 14 in the city of Sydney.
It is noted that the winner of this match will receive a ticket to the Women's World Championship to be held next year in Brazil. The losing team will participate in an additional playoff match to qualify for the World Cup.
For reference, the Uzbekistan national team lost to the China women's national football team and the North Korea women's national football team in the group stage. In the final match, they managed to secure a victory over the Bangladesh women's national football team and successfully advance to the playoff stage.
