The "Mosaicevertising" project, introducing the cultural riches of Tashkent – mosaics freed from the advertising banners that covered them, has received international recognition. The Tashkent City Administration's press service reported this.
In mid-September, at the AdBlackSea international creative festival held in Batumi (Georgia), the project about Tashkent mosaics won the Grand Prix. Additionally, it received a “gold” award in the Media nomination's Use Of Print And Outdoor section.
Furthermore, the project about Tashkent mosaics won three gold and three bronze awards at a prestigious festival in Kazakhstan.
During the Jolbors 2024 thirteenth international advertising festival held on 21-22 September in Almaty, the Tashkent project won three “gold” awards: in the PR campaign, ESG projects, and Reputation behavioral communication nominations, and three “bronze” awards: in the Media campaign, PRINT OUTDOOR, and Brand Experience Activation nominations.
Thus, the Tashkent mosaics became the hero of the festival in terms of the number of awards. All prizes of the project can be seen on its official page.
This “star shower” of awards was the result of collaboration between state and private organizations interested in preserving and popularizing mosaics, as well as community city activists. That is, the collaboration was not “invented” but related to a common love for the city mosaics mission.
The initiative of the Culture and Arts Development Fund and the Cultural Heritage Agency led to the inclusion of the mosaics in the list of Uzbekistan's cultural heritage. The Digital Development Department under the Tashkent City Administration has created a website about the mosaics and a mobile application with animation and augmented reality.
The initiative to popularize Tashkent mosaics, enthusiast Fotima Abdurahmonova gathered information about the location of the mosaics and their authors.
