Eight countries with predominantly Muslim populations — Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates — have condemned the restrictions imposed by Israel on entry to the Al-Aqsa Mosque. This was reported by Daily Sabah.
It is noted that the foreign ministers of these countries have issued a joint statement. In it, the Israeli government is criticized for obstructing Muslims' access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the month of Ramadan, and the international community is called upon to take measures regarding this situation.
The statement emphasized that the security restrictions currently in place in the Old City of Jerusalem and its places of worship contradict international laws, including norms of international humanitarian law.
The ministers also called on Israel to open the gates of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, cancel the entry restrictions to the Old City of Jerusalem, and ensure the possibility of free access to the mosque for Muslim worshippers.
