At the recent meeting of the Central Election Commission held on October 8, issues such as organizing early voting for voters, ensuring the electoral rights of persons with disabilities, and other matters were discussed. The CEC press service reported about this.
At the meeting, a decision was made to organize early voting for voters who are unable to be at their place of residence on Election Day from October 16−23 .
The voting hours at polling stations on these days will be as follows:
- on working days from 09:00 to 18:00;
- and on weekends from 11:00 to 17:00.
At polling stations established under the auspices of Uzbekistan's diplomatic and other missions abroad, early voting will be carried out from 9:00 to 18:00 local time of the country where these polling stations are located.
It is noted that for the election to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, 11 persons with disabilities and for local councils, 605 persons with disabilities have been registered as candidates.
Within the composition of the election commissions, there are 1343 persons with disabilities actively participating. Over 830,000 voters with disabilities are being assisted by volunteers.
Furthermore, according to the decision of the CEC, 19 representatives from the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking Countries, 2 representatives each from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Russia, and China, 3 representatives from the USA, and 1 representative each from Great Britain, Latvia, Lithuania, France, India, and Japan, totaling 36 foreign and international observers, have been accredited.
