Following the heavy rains observed in Morocco, the Sahara Desert was flooded. Zamon.uz reports, citing local publications. 

According to Hussain Yuabeb, a representative of the Moroccan Meteorological Department, such rains have not been observed for 30-50 years.

As a result of floods in Morocco and Algeria, 20 people died, including tourists from Canada and Peru.

Meteorologists report that these precipitations were caused by an extratropical storm.
