These days, there are reports of fraudsters creating fake profiles on Telegram in the name of high-ranking officials and responsible employees of ministries, departments, and various organizations, deceiving their subordinates. The Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs reported this.
It is noted that during the communication, the employee is told as if the law enforcement agencies are interested and asking for some information from them (the leader). After a while, it is announced that an employee of the law enforcement agency will contact him. The employee, believing the words of the fraudster, namely “their leader”, sends all the requested information to the person who contacted him shortly after (allegedly a representative of the law enforcement agency). As a result, workers caught in the trap of fraudsters are losing money from their plastic cards.
“Be aware, before accepting and believing any SMS or other messages of this kind, call or personally reach out to the sender to verify the message!”, the report says.
Additionally, citizens are asked to contact the Department of Internal Affairs at 71-206-55-00 or 102 if they encounter such situations.
