The rapid response team of the Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change Department in the Bukhara region conducted a control raid activity in the territory of the 1st contour of the Qoraqir natural water reservoir in the Peshku district of Bukhara region.

During the event, it was discovered that two citizens living in the Peshku district were illegally fishing using electric current. As material evidence, 168 carps, 10 grass carps, and 1 crucian carp were seized and documented from them. The total material damage caused to nature by this incident was estimated at 3 billion 532 million 500 thousand soms.

It is necessary to emphasize that fishing using electric current not only causes significant harm to nature but also disrupts the biological balance in water bodies. This leads to a reduction in fish populations and various ecological problems in the aquatic fauna.

Currently, based on the relevant documents, criminal proceedings have been initiated by the prosecutorial authorities in connection with the committed violation, and investigative actions are being carried out.
