According to experts, research to create more effective vaccines against HIV, malaria, and tuberculosis should continue. This is because these diseases cause the death of 2.5 million people annually, reports the Ministry of Health Press Service.
The World Health Organization lists the following first-category diseases for which there are still no vaccination means:
- Group A Streptococci,
- Hepatitis C virus,
- HIV-1 (HIV-1)
- Klebsiella pneumoniae.
Vaccines have been developed against the following second-category pathogens, but they need to be further improved:
- cytomegalovirus,
- influenza virus,
- leishmaniasis,
- salmonellosis,
- norovirus,
- malaria plasmodium,
- shigella,
- golden staph.
Vaccines against the following third-category diseases are on the verge of being registered by regulatory authorities:
- dengue fever,
- Group B Streptococcus,
- E. coli,
- tuberculosis,
- respiratory syncytial virus.
