On November 9, in Uychi district of Namangan region, a train collided with a light vehicle. The regional road safety department reported this.

It was reported that at around 10:20 am, at the unguarded railway crossing between Uychi-Chortoq stations, the driver (born in 1961) was driving a Damas car, disregarding the stop signal and the traffic light. As a result of continuing to move, he crashed into the freight carriage of an oncoming locomotive.

As a result of the incident, the driver died on the spot due to severe injuries.

According to "Uzbekistan Railways", the locomotive driver applied the emergency brake promptly, but it was impossible to prevent the collision. There have been no changes to the train schedules in the region.
