In recent years, Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, thanks to rapid reforms and changes, is attracting the attention of the international community.

These changes have deeply influenced the internal processes in the country, forming its new image in the eyes of the foreign public. Euronews regularly broadcasts materials and videos about the New Uzbekistan, thereby helping to inform a wide audience about the country's rich historical and cultural heritage, tourism opportunities, and extensive reforms.

The article titled "Rapid Reforms in Uzbekistan Draw Global Attention" on the Euronews site analyzed the country's emergence on the international arena, President Mirziyoyev's reforms in politics, economy, and civil society, which sparked significant international interest. "The election of Shavkat Mirziyoyev as the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2016 marked the beginning of wide-ranging reforms aimed at democratization, economic development, and global cooperation. These reforms were further strengthened last year when Uzbekistan adopted a new Constitution through a national referendum. Therein, the opinions of all citizens of the country were taken into account, thereby accelerating the country's new development phase," it is highlighted in the Euronews material.

The material sheds light on the International Cooperation Initiatives Week held in Tashkent in October, conducted in collaboration with the Center for Sustainable Development and the Center of Islamic Civilization, local research institutions, analytical centers, and public organizations. “The event became a symbol of Uzbekistan's openness: it involved international experts in political, social, cultural, diplomatic, and economic fields, including members of the House of Lords of the United Kingdom and esteemed diplomats," the report says. "The reforms in Uzbekistan are making it a leader in governance, with the recent victory of liberal and reform-oriented parties in the parliamentary elections demonstrating that the country is not only committed to democratic changes in words but also in deeds."

Foreign policy is also a pressing issue for journalists. Thanks to cooperation between the East and the West, Uzbekistan is opening new directions for trade, cultural exchange, and joint development, strengthening relations not only with neighboring countries but also with states around the world. The former President of Serbia, Boris Tadić, emphasized the importance of this trend for the future of the country. Moreover, he highlighted the mutual benefits of closer relations between Uzbekistan and Europe, as Uzbek youth are an important source for cooperation in technology and innovation. "We need each other as partners," he said. Gdansk University Professor, Gender Equality Expert Małgorzata Stvol appreciated these achievements: "In recent years, Uzbekistan has begun to expand the participation of women in various fields. Women are increasingly taking part in the electoral process as political leaders," she said.

Since the beginning of the reforms, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has emphasized Uzbekistan's commitment to openness and modern approaches in governance. These changes include not just the modernization of the economy, politics, and international integration but also the strengthening of cultural ties. In collaboration with the Center for Islamic Civilization under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Tourism Committee, and Uzbekistan Travel company, a series of articles and videos covering cultural and economic changes in the country have been prepared and published by a major media company.

The Euronews program telling the story of the journey along the Great Silk Road became one of its brightest editions. It introduced the viewers to the history of ancient Uzbek cities such as Samarkand and Bukhara. Viewers were offered the opportunity to travel along a unique tourist route on the "Afrosiyob" high-speed train, visit historic sites like the Afrosiyob archaeological site, and learn about the centuries-old wine-making traditions in Bog'izoghon.

A special material prepared by Euronews dedicated to the art of Uzbek cuisine allows tourists from around the world to become acquainted with the country’s gastronomic traditions. "Tasting traditions: Gastronomic tourism in Uzbekistan" provides an overview of famous Uzbek dishes, including pilaf, considered a culinary treasure of the country and prepared in unique ways in each region.

Another material tells the story of ancient art that has retained its cultural significance for Uzbekistan through the centuries — silk production. "Unraveling the art of silk production in Uzbekistan" discusses the traditional methods of silk production passed down from generation to generation, which remain the country’s hallmark to this day.

Uzbekistan continues to attract the attention of the global community with its efforts to develop the creative economy, promote cultural heritage, and organize international conferences and forums. "Uzbekistan hosts the Global Creative Economy Conference: Shaping the Future of the Global Creative Industry" focuses on issues related to the development of the creative sector in the context of globalization and its contribution to sustainable development. Inspired by its rich history and modern reforms, Uzbekistan has launched a series of initiatives aimed at supporting young entrepreneurs, strengthening international cultural and artistic relations.

"Uzbekistan's Heritage: Samarkand Congress Emphasizes the Importance of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent" and a series of reports highlight the international recognition and support for Uzbekistan's cultural rejuvenation efforts. Special attention is given to reforms aimed at showcasing the significant contributions of great Uzbek ancestors to the world civilization's treasury within these initiatives. A special video series about the ancient symbols of Uzbekistan and their invaluable heritage will be broadcasted on the Euronews channel in the coming days. Moreover, tonight, a special report about the Cultural Heritage Week, organized in collaboration with the Center for Islamic Civilization, the Ministry of Culture, the Cultural Heritage Agency, as well as the country's leading museums and libraries, will showcase the amazing history and rich cultural traditions of Uzbekistan and emphasize the efforts to promote the country’s unique heritage to the world audience.
