The official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Budapest began with a meeting with the leaders of Hungary's major companies and banks. This was reported by the President's press service.
Top managers and founders of many companies such as “OTP Bank”, “BDPST Group”, “4iG”, “Indotek”, “MVM”, “Duna Group”, “MOL Group”, “H2O Consortium”, “Inpark”, “Wizz Air” and others participated on behalf of Hungary.
Our state leader highlighted in his speech that starting the official visit with a meeting with Hungarian businessmen has a symbolic significance.
The rapid growth of Hungary's direct investments into Uzbekistan's economy was noted with satisfaction. For instance, “OTP Bank” acquired one of the largest banks in Uzbekistan and secured a stable position in our country's financial market.
The company's new plans for establishing a joint venture to develop car loans, launching a business financing program, and building a large poultry farming cluster were supported.
With the aim of expanding industrial cooperation and encouraging the transfer of advanced technologies, a special industrial zone for European companies is being established in the Tashkent region. The management of this area will be given to the Hungarian operator “Inpark”.
In order to expand the economic partnership, the President of Uzbekistan pointed out a number of priority directions. These include jointly financing projects and supporting the export of finished products to the promising markets of third countries.
The importance of enhancing transportation connectivity, specifically increasing freight traffic and developing direct flights between the two countries, was emphasized.
The state leader highly appreciated the interest of Hungarian companies in implementing joint projects. In turn, business representatives expressed proposals and plans for expanding cooperation.
At the meeting, agreements were reached to implement new projects in areas such as modernizing transportation and infrastructure, establishing logistics centers and public utilities, and producing construction materials, ready-made textiles, chemicals, and pharmaceutical products.
In conclusion, the state leader suggested holding such meetings regularly.

The event concluded with a ceremony of exchanging agreements on implementing priority investment projects in the presence of our state leader.
